Magnesium Chloride Flakes

The star of every one of our Bath Kits is Magnesium Chloride Flakes!

Magnesium is both a mineral and an electrolyte, and is essential for over 300 biochemical functions in the body, such as regulating heart rate + blood pressure, muscles + nerve activation, maintaining bone health, energy production and DNA replication.  Although a clinical magnesium deficiency is rare, many of us may have low levels.

Common signs of magnesium deficiency include:

Fatigue, muscle weakness, spasms + cramps, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, and osteoporosis.

Fortunately, a deficiency can typically be fixed over a short period of time, as the level of magnesium required in not large, and restoration can be done through relaxing in a bath!

A number of studies have shown that magnesium absorption through the skin (transdermal) is highly effective (even better than through the GI tract); plus, it can avoid potential side effects found with oral supplements.

So which one is better? Epsom Salts or Magnesium Chloride Flakes?

Both are sources of magnesium, but they have a different molecular structure.  Epsom Salt consists of some magnesium, in the form of magnesium sulfate.  Epsom Salt can be sourced from naturally occurring springs, but the vast majority are synthetically manufactured for mass market.  Magnesium Chloride is a naturally occurring form of magnesium.  Our Magnesium Flakes are extracted from the brine of the Dead Sea water. While the appearance and the application of the two compounds may be similar, the 'unseen' difference is the absorption rate of the two.  Magnesium Flakes more easily absorbed and utilized by the body.

So next time you dump that big bag of The Salts into your bath  water know that it is silently working to help boost your magnesium levels + your overall health.
